Direct-acting relief cartridges are normally closed, pressure-limiting valves used to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to limit the pressure rise. These valves are smooth and quiet, essentially zero leak, dirt tolerant, immune to silting and are very fast.

Needle valves with reverse-flow check are fully adjustable orifices used to regulate flow. They are infinitely adjustable from fully closed up to the maximum orifice diameter. An integral high-capacity check valve provides unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1. They are not pressure compensated.

The Sun Hydraulics FXCA-XAN-2.50LPM + GPB is a complete hydraulic assembly consisting of a fixed-orifice, pressure-compensated flow control cartridge (FXCA-XAN) pre-set to a flow rate of 2.50 LPM, mounted in an ISO 03 sandwich body (GPB).

This assembly functions as a pressure-compensated flow regulator. Regardless of varying load pressures or pump fluctuations, it maintains a steady output of 2.50 Liters Per Minute (LPM) with an accuracy of +/- 10%. The sharp-edged orifice design ensures that performance remains stable even if fluid viscosity changes due to temperature shifts.

Flow dividers are sliding-spool, pressure-compensated devices used to split oil flow to two different branches of a circuit in a designated ratio. Synchronizing flow divider/combiners are sliding-spool, pressure-compensated devices used to split flow in one direction and combine flow in the opposite direction. With a sychronizing feature, these valves can be used to allow two hydraulic cylinders to fully stroke and synchronize at the end of the stroke. When the first cylinder has reached the end of its stroke, a pressure-compensated, reduced flow is metered to or from the second cylinder until it also reaches the end of its stroke.

Pilot-operated, 3-way directional cartridges (1 blocked, 2 to 3 open) are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits.
